As custodians of this land, we strive to continue to nurture and protect it so that both nature and our guests can thrive.
In our cabins we walk the environmental talk in a gentle and inviting manner. Our commitment to sustainability is evident in the choices we make and the amenities we provide. We aim to create a sense of connection and respect for the natural world, allowing our guests to experience the beauty of the environment while appreciating the importance of its preservation.
By embracing sustainable practices, we hope to inspire others to make conscious choices that promote the well-being of this earth.
Our love for the environment is genuine and we are committed to preserving and restoring the natural beauty that surrounds us. Over the last 10 years, we have dedicated ourselves to the task of clearing invasive weeds, particularly lantana and have enjoyed watching the native seed back thrive, and we have also replanting with hundreds of native species.
Every day we are rewarded seeing so many creatures enjoying this land, echidnas, wallabies, pademelons, koalas, goannas, bandicoots, turtles, water dragons, possums, feather-tailed gliders and incredibly birdlife (king parrots, Satin bower birds, red wattle birds, spinebills, Yellow tailed cockatoos, kookaburras, magpies) to name just a few of our regulars
We hope you enjoy it here as much as we do.
The environment and reducing our footprint is a big thing for us in everything we do.
2014 – We came on a camping trip to the Barrington Tops with our young kids and saw the For Sale sign outside of Bluegums. A few months later the adventure began with a new home and 2 little holiday cabins in this stunningly beautiful place.
Fast forward to 2023 and we now have 4 romantic stays for two and 2 larger holiday home that we manage for the owners (who purchased after staying at Bluegums).
It’s hard work but it’s always a delight to read through the guest books and discover that some couples have returned year after year, some for over 15 years. . Reading the words “We’ll be back”, “we got engaged” and all the other lovely comments in our guest books makes all the hard work worthwhile.
We are definitely not the only ones who stayed here and ending up purchased a holiday home here after, so you never know what is ahead of you when you book a stay at Bluegums Cabins.
A really big thank you to all the photographers who have helped us with the most beautiful shots of our cabins and of this area. We are so grateful and appreciate the time, effort, and artistry in creating these stunning images.
Some of our photos are by wonderful professionals and some photos are from guests, all truely appreciated.
Special thanks to Sandra Henri Photography who was the first person to start this journey with us and whose photos 10 years on are still a favourite. Also thanks to these other favourites Andrea Buschner, Stone and Bear who have also captured beautiful moments over the years and if there is anyone I have forgot big thanks to you too. Always happy to put a link to your site here 🙂
We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of these lands, the Gringai people.
